If we give as certain that a '500 or a '800, it's the same, musician thrummed on his instrument, alone or with few fans and situation that inspirated him; and that he sol-fa (!) the score till the public esecution, so it would born this question: is there a lot of difference, if we consider the all, with the pop/rock artist, that we conventionally make sourced in the fifties, and since today, with his great, or less, musical culture in his predecessors? I intend, with predecessors musical culture, "the fining of the ear", and also the develop of the schools, of what they have made or make part.
The Italian Verdena, it's only an example, they aren't Vivaldi fans, but they could know him! Their it's young italian rock music, yes, indipendent from classic it's true, but it's the last expression we have watched; not as violins but in fact of Music! because from Russia to USA the classic music there is, but apart something in contemporary classic genious and only in the genere,we haven't known heirs, while in pop/rock music there are!
Before I have done mention to the "Verdena", which are very good! As them, the pop/rock artists, with a certain way to see, make these years of pop/rock Music conseguentely of what has musically and storycally come before. That is the blues and the rock'n'roll, the pop, yes... and before who is there? Try to ask! I don't know (Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Steve Ray Vaughan... they say to you anything?)!
Here in Italy there are and have been the schools: old or new, have given and give very much in the sense of present and past, to the singers, to the bands:

The milan school (Gaber, Jannacci, Area, Pfm, Vanoni).
The genoa school (Lauzi, Tenco, De Andrè).
The naple school (Bennato, Osanna, Daniele, Carosone).
The roman school (Venditti, Ferro, Villa, Fiorini).
The bolognese (!) school (Ron, Dalla, Minghi, Morandi).
...and the venice one (Donaggio, Le Orme, Pravo, Pitura Freska).

I have probably forgotten several artists names: "Sorry for these". What say? They have made the schools, now come the present and the future of the artists that can go on(!) with the predecessors already known, so in leg, unluck, with the will or not will limited organisation, of talent but with other choices of life, not of the idea to pass the foreign Countries, without very passion...
And what other! As Ligabue sings: "...Without the life... we have the life... we have the life... we are so did..." Good for him!
